How clear braces work
Each clear aligner is precisely shaped to apply controlled, gentle pressure to specific teeth, moving them in small, measured steps towards their final position. You progress to a new aligner every 1–2 weeks. We begin by taking a digital scan of your mouth at our St Albans clinic and showing you a 3D simulation of exactly how your teeth will move — and what your finished smile will look like before treatment even starts.
Treatment typically takes 12–24 months, with brief check-in visits every 6–8 weeks. Small tooth-coloured attachments may be added to certain teeth to help achieve more complex movements. As your dentist in St Albans, we monitor your progress closely at every stage.
